KXLU FUNDRAISER STARTS TODAY!

KXLU 88.9 FM LOS ANGELES KICKS OFF ANNUAL FUNDRAZOR
ON OCTOBER 3RD
So Many Wizards, Dirt Dress, and Corners
Perform Live In-Studio During The Week
Loyola Marymount University radio station KXLU 88.9 FM Los Angeles kicks off its annual fundraising drive on Friday, October 3rd, at 10 a.m. The drive continues 24-hours-a-day for ten days, with live in-studio performances by Los Angeles favorites So Many Wizards, Dirt Dress, and Corners at 7pm on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday respectively. Those interested in pledging their support should call the station's pledge line at 310.338.KXLU (5958) any time, or donate online at www.kxlu.com from October 3rd to the 12th.
A variety of KXLU premiums will be offered to those making pledges, including KXLU t-shirts, hoodies, tote bags, Nalgenes, throw blankets, baseball hats, and an extensive range of CD and vinyl compilation packs.
This year KXLU is proud to offer Live Volume 11 featuring live performances from artists such as Ty Segall, Colleen Green, Father John Misty, Zig Zags, Dum Dum Girls, FIDLAR, Cherry Glazerr, and more, all recorded in studio. The compilation has been pressed on a limited run of vinyl records.
KXLU offers a diverse and eclectic programming schedule which includes genres such as punk, garage, and alternative rock, classical, opera, world, electronica, country, hip hop, metal, salsa, jazz, soul, as well as a variety of other specialty programs and live broadcasting of LMU's sporting events.
The annual Fundrazor is a crucial event for the nationally recognized college radio station. During these 10 days, KXLU raises its operating budget so it can remain a free form, student-run, commercial free radio station.
This year’s Fundrazor is especially poignant for the station as it recently updated its live production studio set up, is presenting its first Alma Del Barrio Salsa Fest on Oct 26th on campus with Son Mayor headlining and will host its second annual KXLU Fest in the spring. All Fundrazor donations go directly to KXLU so the station can continue to offer free events such as these to the public and sustain its operations.
KXLU is committed to maintaining consistently high programming standards throughout its schedule by striving to give underrepresented artists and musical genres, which do not have a voice on the traditional mainstream circuit, an alternative and supportive forum in which to showcase their talent. KXLU broadcasts live 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
Programming schedules, as well as the station's live web stream, may be accessed via the web at www.kxlu.com. A free KXLU app is also available to iPhone, iPad and Android users.
