In her column in the August 19 issue of Maclean's, Emma Tietel complains about Robin Thicke's latest single as well as Justin Timberlake's "Take Back The Night." Tietel disapproves of the attitude of these two songs and others of a similar ilk when it comes to talking about rape and a woman consenting or not to sex. This is typical: a Jew complaining about something her fellow Jews are helping to promulgate.
I found the article in the same issue about family beds sort of interesting. Maybe if a lot of the families in this story had practiced co-sleeping when their children were infants, they wouldn't be having the problems they are now.
Regarding the item in the September issue of Chatalaine about Bill Gates offering money to redesign the condom, the writer fails to point out that abstinence is the only truly (meaning 100 percent) effective way to prevent sexually transmitted diseases. Besides, the reason many people don't use condoms is because, logically, it does dull the mood. I mean, if you have a sheath of rubber over your penis, you aren't going to feel the sensations as intensely as if you hadn't been using protection. Also, in the heat of the moment, how many people are going to want or remember to put on a condom anyway, no matter what it looks like or what features it has?
