Luke 9 51-56: This passage is often cited by people who frankly want to portray Jesus as a whimp. However, in one of the other gospels, Jesus says that there will come a time to call down fire "and how I wish it were already kindled."
Fire was called down on September 24, 2006.
Luke 10 25-37: Though I do not advocate the social gospel, this passage clearly teaches that when Christians see someone in need like this, they are to help, albeit there are times when we need the Holy Spirit to discern if it's a scam or not. The Samaritan saw this man lying beaten up by the side of the road and helped him. He didn't ask how he got in that situation or what kind of person the man was.
Luke 10 40: "but Martha was cumbered about much serving and came to Him and said Lord dost Thou not care that my sister has left me to serve alone bid her therefore that she help me"
This is one of two occasions when Jesus was asked by Martha, "Don't you care?"
Luke 11 7: "and he from within shall answer and say trouble me not the door is now shut and my children are with me in bed I cannot rise and give thee"
This shows you how long co-sleeping has been practised.
Luke 11 14-23: A lot of these televangelists and faith healers cast out devils by Satan. The purpose is not to cast the demon out, but to invite more demons in.
Luke 11 24-26: A lot of times, Christians only clean a sin partially out of their lives. However, this just invites the sin to reassert itself and the person winds up with a worse problem regarding that sin than he had before.
Luke 11 46: How little some things change.
Luke 11 37-54 (with special emphasis placed on verses 50 and 51): The descendants of the Pharisees became the people we call Jews today. Reread this passage in light of this fact.
Luke 12 10: "and whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of Man it shall be forgiven him but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven"
The only unforgivable sin is never coming to Christ in your lifetime. Don't make that mistake! Turn to Jesus now! Repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of your sins (Acts 2 38.)
