The June issue of Canadian Geographic has an article about the Ontario government planting trees. The writer is pretty one-sided. He doesn't really talk about the feelings of the people who live in the area where the trees are being planted.

The same issue has the winners of the Canadian Geographic Environmental Science awards, recognizing amateur scientists. This is really cool. So often in our society today, the perception is that you have to have a degree to do anything credible. It's great that these ordinary people are being recognized for their work in the field of science.

The July issue of Chatelaine has an article about a woman who delivered her baby through natural childbirth. The article says that the birthing process is easier when you're upright or lying on your side. This is because the force of gravity is with you. Why do you think some babies are born in vehicles on the way to the hospital? Because the women are sitting and the force of gravity helps the baby come out easier. Another good way to ease the delivery is to squat on a chair.
